Bukit Timah Nature Reserve Hike & first geocache encounter! « alfreds blog.
Alfred’s got a nice blog entry about the hike we did yesterday morning. It’s quite a relaxing hike for me as I didn’t really work that hard for it, but we manage to cover a distance of about 7km in 2:30 hours.

| Had some spare time, so decided to do this hike. Decided to walk towards the end of Cachement Path to see where it goes. True enough, it leads me towards the Mountain Bike Trail area. Lots of mud everywhere, including the MTB trail. Looking at the trail conditions, I was quite happy that I did not take the bike out, as I was somewhat dreading about the clean up I potentially have to do later on. I did, however, missed on the potential fun if I did get dirty.
As for Bukit Timah, I believed I’ve covered almost all of the trails it has to offer. |

Have not hiked for a while, so decided to do this short one. I’ve never been to the Wallace Trail before, so I decided to have a look see. So far, it’s an easy but interesting trail, with lots of information and educational points of interests regarding the history, flora and fauna of the area.
To get the heart working a bit I did decide to walk to the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve up the Dairy Farm Loop. Went up the stairs where it gave people lots of trouble, I made it in 4:33, not bad compared to previous times, but not that good either

This time round, we managed to find out that there’s a closed path that is not shown in the maps we’ve seen everywhere in the nature reserve.
Going through the Tiup Tiup Path, I see no reason why this area is not accessible to public. In fact, we do see quite a few people going through this trail as a natural part of their hike.
On the unmaintained Tiup Tiup Hut, we saw what the map once was, and hiking here, is at your own risk, I assume.
I guess we are not doing anything wrong here.
